Jayne Harper Hill

I was born  in Charleston, WV, attened Morris Harvey College, graduated from WV State University with a BS in Education (Mathematics and English), and the WV College of Graduate Studies with an MA in Gifted Education. I have two older sisters,  Loretta and Phyllis, and a younger brother, Brian, who sadly passed away of cancer in 2014. I had a wonderful son by my first marriage. When I remarried, I inherited three lovely stepdaughters. After the two older girls were married, we moved to Raleigh, NC, where there was a better economy for my husband, a residential builder.
I had started teaching  in the Charleston area when my son started school. In Raleigh. I taught school for a while (I was a Gifted and Talented Specialist), and took classes and got my Real Estate License. I mostly listed and sold houses my husband built. We moved to Emerald Isle, NC, where my husband built mostly upper end beach homes. I got my Real Estate Brokers License and started my own Real Estate Company. I also started my Home Design business at this time.
One day I met a lady named Sharyn who had a jewelry store, and that began my love of anything that glittered and could be worn!  I even worked in the store for a week once when she had surgery.  We moved back to the Raleigh area and I resumed teaching. Not long after the move, my son, Jeff, died of a massive heart attack at the age of thirty-one. He was a wonderful young man, and  graduated from North Carolina State University. He was on vacation, preparing to go to work for Progress Energy in their Design Engineering Department using AutoCAD to design electrical systems. He was a sweet and brilliant little boy, learning to read at the ago of two.
I went into a deep depression. I tried to teach, but took a year or two off at times. This is when I got the idea to write the first draft of this book. I finished my teaching career in Sanford, NC, and retired with twenty-two years of service. My husband and I  then went on a two and a half year adventure, touring the USA in an RV. Our favorite sites were the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone Park, Gettysburg, and Niagra Falls. We wintered in Florida and fell in love with a little town north of Tampa and bought a house with a pool, which we love. I now have plenty of time to write and read (on my Kindle). I am also a genealogy enthusiast and enjoy gardening, baking, swimming, and Estate Sale/Thrift Store shopping. One of my sisters and her husband moved here from SC. Also, one of my step daughters and her husband are moving about an hour from us. Life is good again!
